Effective July 16, 2026
Wasl is a community project that lists Muslim community events and masjid information for Muslim communities. We collect as little as possible, and this page says exactly what that is.
If you browse: standard, aggregated usage analytics (pages visited, approximate region, device type) via Vercel Analytics. No cross-site tracking, no sale of data — ever.
If you create an account: your email address and the display name you choose. Accounts exist so contributors and moderators can be accountable for what they submit — nothing more.
If you submit an event or a report: the content you submit, linked to your account if you were signed in. Event submissions are reviewed by a person before publishing. Reports are never public.
If you send prayer times, a chart photo, an announcement or a correction: what you send goes to a moderator and is never shown with your name. A chart photo is stored privately — only moderators can open it — and its location data is removed before it is stored. An email or WhatsApp number you leave is seen only by moderators, and is removed from your contribution once it has been decided.
Masjid pages contain publicly available organizational information (name, address, phone, website, published events) gathered from the masjid’s own public channels. This is information about organizations, not individuals. Any masjid may have its information corrected or removed by contacting us — we act on such requests without conditions.
Wasl runs on Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and Sentry (error monitoring). Each receives only what is technically necessary to operate the service.
Email support@joinwasl.com to delete your account and its data, ask what we hold about you, or raise any concern. Deletion requests are honored promptly and completely.
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and material changes will be noted on this page. We will never quietly expand what we collect.
