Community guidelines

Short, because the principle is simple.

Wasl carries information the community relies on. Everything here follows from that.

  1. Public gatherings only

Home halaqas and private events are deliberately not broadly advertised — honor that. Never post a private gathering or a home address. The submission form asks; the answer matters.

  2. Accuracy over speed

Submit what you can verify, link your source, and report changes the moment you learn of them. A wrong time costs a family an evening; corrections are treated with priority.

  3. Every community, evenhandedly

Wasl lists everyone’s gatherings and takes no side in any intra-community difference. Submissions that exist to target another masjid or community are removed and end contributor standing.

  4. Flyer artwork belongs to its makers

Event facts are shared freely; flyer images are credited and linked, and takedown requests are honored immediately — no questions, no delay.

  5. Janaza spaces stay quiet

Announcements about the deceased carry du‘ā’, logistics, and nothing else. Report anything that doesn’t belong; nothing matters more to us than getting these right.

Enforcement is proportionate: honest mistakes get a correction; patterns get a conversation; bad faith ends publishing access. Questions → contact us.
